Sevdaliza (Teheran, Iran) is an autodidactic singer, songwriter, director and composer. Her creations contrast husky vocals with cutting strings and basslines setting an enigmatic mood. Born in Iran and residing in the Netherlands, Sevdaliza has made quite the impression with her consistent release of audiovisual experiences. Sevdaliza’s melancholic visceral voice floats over beds of thumping triphop dubs, married with classical harmonies. Rhythmic tensions build slowly into chaotic climaxes. Her work has been described as "genrebending", drawing on various genres including electronic, punk, triphop, grime and the avant-garde.

Her writing, influenced by greater novelists, has a philosophical questioning character; subjects like gender diversification and perception of emotion are strongly present. Masculine and feminine energy blend harmonically within. Sevdaliza plays with the simulation of identities and fantasies that can hardly be distinguished from reality. Creating a world where everything is possible. To Sevdaliza, expression comes forward in designing every detail in sound and imagery. Her music is charged with demanding energy and consists an enormous amount of dynamics. It portrays a porcelain yet deep fullness. Her creations attracted worldwide attention. She self-released her internationally acclaimed debut EP “The Suspended Kid and the follow-up “Children of Silk”. Both EP’s were well received worldwide with the likes of international press and fans. Meanwhile, her music has been synced on the runway and on screen for film and TV. Last year, Sevdaliza debuted with the ISON LP. The release of this album was received with praise by basically all leading media worldwide. The release of the album was followed by a sold-out headline tour through Europe and the US. In 2018 Sevdaliza embarked on her first world tour. Leading the unique band through Australia, Europa, The United States and Asia. In this same year Sevdaliza released the groundbreaking visual of Shahmaran which received from all corners of the entertainment industry. 2020 started in an extremely tumultuous way. In these unprecedented times Sevdaliza choose to continue to share her message with her fans. Sevdaliza has now released her sophomore album Shabrang with a message of positivity and hope.

The safety of our music fans, artists and employees will always be our top priority. Let’s all work together to ensure lockdown rules do not come back.

The government has asked us to encourage the use of Covid Passports at Electric Brixton but it is not a legal requirement. We will not be asking you to prove that you have been vaccinated, had Covid in the past or a proof of a negative test . If you feel unwell, please do not attend the venue and put others at risk. We also recommend you test on a regular basis.

Masks
While masks are no longer required, if you wish to wear a mask inside the venue you can.

We will require all masks to be removed upon entering the venue so that ID checks and any security searches can take place.

All our employees will be wearing masks.

Temperature Checks
We will continue to temperature check everyone coming into the venue.

Sanitising
Everyone will be required to sanitise their hands upon entering our venue. This helps us keep things safe.

Additional sanitising stations will be located in the toilet areas or by asking any of our employees who will have additional sanitiser behind all service areas and security points.

Venue Cleaning
On top of our enhanced cleaning procedures, we have also implemented Nordic Chem a Antimicrobial spray coating which is a monthly procedure. Nordic Chem coating is a mechanical kill that creates a very thin layer of “nano-spikes” that penetrate the virus/bacteria that comes in contact with the coating and thus killing it.

Social Distancing
The venue will no longer be enforcing social distancing but we understand the venue can get busy so we will be creating additional areas (at the front of the venue) for those who smoke or need some fresh air

Our medic is on duty at all events . If you become unwell during your time with us please head to the medic room located on the ground floor and they will assist you. We also have a substantial quantity of Lateral Flow Tests at the venue so if the medic has any concerns with your well- being they will offer you the opportunity to take a test.

Our cloakrooms are also now taking card payments so again this will limit cash transactions. Please bring minimal items so that we can space out customers items as much as possible.
