Leif Vollebekk is a Montreal adopted singer-songwriter. He will release his highly anticipated fourth full-length album New Ways on November 1st, the follow-up to his breakthrough Polaris Music Prize finalist, Juno nominated record Twin Solitude. The record is now at over 22 million streams and was critically acclaimed by Uncut, NPR Music, The Fader, The Sunday Times Culture, The Line of Best Fit, Paste, Brooklyn Vegan, WXPN, KCRW and Exclaim! to only name a few. During his career Leif has shared stages with Shakey Graves, Gregory Alan Isakov, Angie McMahon, Daniel Lanois, Patrick Watson, Natalia Lafourcade, Mandolin Orange, Beth Orton, Sinéad O’Connor and countless others. He sold-out much of his latest North-American headlining tour during the Twin Solitude campaign. He’s also set to go on tour with Half Moon Run this November.
New Ways is the sound of desire in its unfolding — whereas Twin Solitude was about self-reflection, New Ways is about engaging and changing, touching and being touched. It’s a physical record, with louder and tighter grooves, and the rawest lyrics the musician has ever recorded—tenderness and violence, sex and rebirth, Plato and Julie Delpy. There’s the heat of the night and the cool blue of morning, hints of Prince and Bill Withers.
The safety of our music fans, artists and employees will always be our top priority. Let’s all work together to ensure lockdown rules do not come back.
The government has asked us to encourage the use of Covid Passports at Electric Brixton but it is not a legal requirement. We will not be asking you to prove that you have been vaccinated, had Covid in the past or a proof of a negative test . If you feel unwell, please do not attend the venue and put others at risk. We also recommend you test on a regular basis.
While masks are no longer required, if you wish to wear a mask inside the venue you can.
We will require all masks to be removed upon entering the venue so that ID checks and any security searches can take place.
All our employees will be wearing masks.
We will continue to temperature check everyone coming into the venue.
Everyone will be required to sanitise their hands upon entering our venue. This helps us keep things safe.
Additional sanitising stations will be located in the toilet areas or by asking any of our employees who will have additional sanitiser behind all service areas and security points.
On top of our enhanced cleaning procedures, we have also implemented Nordic Chem a Antimicrobial spray coating which is a monthly procedure. Nordic Chem coating is a mechanical kill that creates a very thin layer of “nano-spikes” that penetrate the virus/bacteria that comes in contact with the coating and thus killing it.
The venue will no longer be enforcing social distancing but we understand the venue can get busy so we will be creating additional areas (at the front of the venue) for those who smoke or need some fresh air
Our medic is on duty at all events . If you become unwell during your time with us please head to the medic room located on the ground floor and they will assist you. We also have a substantial quantity of Lateral Flow Tests at the venue so if the medic has any concerns with your well- being they will offer you the opportunity to take a test.
Employees of Venue
Our employees will be asked to take two lateral flow tests a week prior to starting work.
The venue is blessed with extremely affective fresh air ventilations that is circulating at all times around the whole of the venue.
Payments & Cloakroom
We strongly encourage you to use contactless/cards if you can, to limit cash transactions. We will be asking all promoters to provide a card payment facility at the box office so that cash handling is minimal.
Our cloakrooms are also now taking card payments so again this will limit cash transactions. Please bring minimal items so that we can space out customers items as much as possible.
We look forward to seeing you all back at Electric Brixton.
